As part of our Kickstart Kindness Campaign we are hosting a 1-1/2 hour lunch workshop on poverty Advanced registration is necessary. Please click here to register.  A $5.00 donation is suggested for lunch.  To make a donation online please use this link.

How do people become homeless? What can you do to help?

Common Heart is partnering with fellow nonprofit Urban Ministry Center to answer these questions  and give local residents the tools they need to help during a lunch-time workshop Wednesday, April 29 The workshop, dubbed “My Name is Rachel,” will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Indian Trail  Cultural Arts Center, at the corner of Indian Trail Road and Navajo Trail. Lunch will be provided for a  $5 suggested donation and guests are welcome to bring their own lunch.

This is the first in a series of planned workshops and classes as part of Common Heart's new SERVING U, a  program aimed at teaching local residents how to help their neighbors in need. Our next project will be a series of orientation videos that will help our volunteers fully embody our vision to "promote a small revolution of kindness."

“My Name is Rachel,” workshop is a perfect match with the mission of Common Heart, Executive Director Keith Adams said.  “We're excited to partner with the Urban Ministry Center to bring this program to Indian Trail as we  seek to 'encourage a small revolution of kindness' in our community,” he said. “We want to encourage and equip local residents with the information and tools they need to help their neighbors in need.”

We hope that many of our volunteers, neighbors, human service processionals, and community leaders will join us for the "My Name is Rachel" workshop on April 29
