Inquiring Minds Want to know ... What you thought about the Thanksgiving Outreach

There were a lot of folks that came out to The Commonplace today.  We packed up about 375 boxes filled with turkeys, potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, stuffing, bread, desert ... all the fixin's.  If you were there would you write a brief comment or story about your experience.  Inquiring minds want to know!

Comment from Steven McKinnon:
Today was the culmination of lots of work and fun over the past few months working with Commonplace and all the great volunteers.  We were up at 6am headed over to Keith's place to assist in the organization of the delivery details.  Plenty of excitement as we got to work with all the delivery teams this year.  Last year, our first year to participate, we mostly sorted and packed food.  This year we got to meet all the delivery folks.  It was great and the feedback we got was that it just gets better every year.  It was great seeing friends, co-workers, neighbors, and all of our church members out helping today.  God is good and who needs any more proof then our day today.  Way to go Keith and Deb - keep up the great work.

From Facebook:
Elise -  "Keith, this was such a blessing for me and David today. We got lots of hugs and love coming our way. What an awesome Thanksgiving this will be!"

  1. The Thanksgiving outreach was a smashing success!! It was wonderful to see that so many people came out to help... The Thanksgiving boxes were packed so quickly because of the wonderful teamwork!!
The people that we got to actually visit and give the Thanksgiving boxes to today were so thrilled to receive it, and so thankful for it!
I thank the Lord so much for what He is doing through this ministry!

  2. There is one Saturday a year that I look forward to more than any other and that is the Saturday before Thanksgiving thanks to Common Cupboard!!! This was my third year participating in the Thanksgiving outreach that Common Cupboard sponsors and all I can say is WOW!!! What an amazing opportunity to pack boxes with an entire meal for families who wouldn't really get a Thanksgiving without the Cupboard and then get to personally deliver them, hear the families' stories, pray with them, hug them, and encourage them!!! As if that wasn't enough, we are blessed to serve alongside Keith, Deb, and their amazing team and each other. I am so thankful God gave Keith and Deb the vision for Common Heart and that they were obedient enough to persevere, courageous enough to step into lots of unknown waters, and faithful enough to let God work through them to show Christ's love in real and tangible ways to families in Union County.

It is a blessing and an honor to participate in these Thanksgiving outreaches. I am humbled by the families we visit who are thankful for the gift of food and I, in turn, am thankful for the reminder that we should "...give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:18

    Love you Common Heart!!!!

  3. I enjoy you because of all of the effort on this web page. My daughter loves carrying out research and it’s really easy to see why. Almost all know all regarding the dynamic means you convey both interesting and useful steps through your web site and as well as invigorate participation from other individuals on this area of interest so our favorite girl has been being taught so much. Have fun with the remaining portion of the year. You are always doing a superb job. اردو شاعری Naveed Ahmed
